Complete 120V retrofit for compatible Kohler 73533-AA and K-73533 whirlpool pump systems. This kit replaces the obsolete pump and proprietary controls with a new pump, Balboa control box, and waterproof wireless remote.
It provides High, Medium, and Low speeds with On/Off control and a 30-minute timer. It does not include a deck-mounted keypad, Wave mode, or Pulse mode.
The original Kohler 73533-AA pump, electronic keypad, control board, and Telco-style communication cable are obsolete. These original components cannot be mixed with this modern control system, so the pump and controls are replaced together.

Compatibility and Installation
- Verify the original label shows Kohler 73533-AA or K-73533.
- The replacement pump may have different dimensions from the original.
- A new stable pump base or mounting platform may be required.
- Most existing plumbing can often be reused, but minor alignment adjustments may be necessary.
- This is a 120V system. Do not connect it directly to a 240V supply.
- The electrical supply must be properly GFCI protected.
- Use a qualified technician when electrical or plumbing modifications are required.
Pump union tip: Start the union square and tighten it by hand. The O-ring creates the seal. Do not use Teflon tape or pipe compound on the union threads.
This kit may also fit selected older ITT Marlow brush-motor systems, but only after Whirly Bros verifies the pump dimensions, plumbing, voltage, and control configuration.
Important Heater Information
The original Kohler 73533-AA pump assembly included a heater. This replacement system does not include one. If you want to maintain bathwater temperature during operation, view our whirlpool tub heater replacements.
